About MiMia
We didn't set out to build a company. We set out to close a gap that never should have existed.
MiMia is a clinician-designed platform that helps women in perimenopause finally understand what is happening in their bodies, and what to do about it. Here's why we built it, and who's behind it.
Why we built MiMia
Perimenopause has been invisible in medicine for too long
Symptoms that don't have a name yet. A doctor who says "that's just aging." No clear protocol, no clear next step, just years of feeling unheard. It's a story too many women live through with perimenopause, including us.
We built the platform we wished we'd had ourselves, so the next generation of women wouldn't have to navigate the same uncertainty. Not more supplements to take, not a generic wellness checklist, but a clear, evidence-based path built around what's actually happening in your body.
The bigger picture
We're rewriting whose body sets the standard
Women spend roughly 25% more of their lives in poor health than men, and perimenopause is one of the biggest, least-understood pieces of that gap. For decades, the male body has been the default; the standard in clinical trials, medical research, and even in how we think about leadership. Women's biology was treated as a footnote, an exception to adjust for later, if at all.
We're rewriting that. Every woman who takes the Clarity Test helps build a body of data that finally reflects half the world's population, closing a knowledge gap that's been allowed to persist for generations. This isn't just a personal health tool. It's the foundation of a movement to change whose bodies get studied, whose symptoms get taken seriously, and whose experience gets to define "normal."
"This is not just a personal health tool. It is the foundation of a movement."
What's in it for you
Clarity. And the confidence to act on it.
With MiMia, you get a clear picture of what's happening in your body, in language you can bring straight into your next doctor's visit. Not guesswork, not a generic checklist, but clinically grounded guidance that helps you move from wondering to knowing, so you can make decisions about your own health with confidence.
What we believe
The rules we build by
Discovery, never assumption
We never assume you're already "in it." MiMia meets you wherever you are, to help you find out, not to confirm what we've decided about you.
Clinically grounded, always
Every question and score is grounded in validated clinical instruments, reviewed by practicing clinicians.
Behavior-first, not supplement-first
Personalized, evidence-based actions you can actually take, not another product to buy.
One experience, different lenses
Our team spans many countries, cultures, languages, and lived experiences. We know the perimenopause experience is different depending on where you live and how you were raised. MiMia is built to reflect that.
Your data, your choice
You choose how your data is used, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Identity, not diagnosis
Understanding your body is empowering, not a label to fear.
Who's behind MiMia
Six women, building for what's next
Roxana
Owns the overall direction and execution — turning where MiMia is headed into what actually gets built, tested, and shipped.
Jen
Shapes the product itself and the partners who help it grow — from what's in the assessment to who MiMia builds with next.
Vanessa
Makes sure the world knows MiMia — and that it looks, sounds, and feels like itself when they find her.
Dr. Kelly Baxter
Ensures MiMia's clinical foundation is sound — and just as importantly, understandable. She's the bridge between the medical world and the women using MiMia.
Dr. Kelsey Sherman
Brings deep clinical experience treating women through perimenopause — and a career spent pushing back on the idea that symptoms are something to simply push through.
Dr. Elena Rodríguez
The EU counterpart to MiMia's US clinical team — keeping everything we build grounded in the latest research and clinical study standards across European markets.
